Vadar Alpha Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2025
Vadar Alpha, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and your choices regarding your information. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Personal Information: The only personal information we currently collect from you is your email address (for example, when you create an account or contact us). We do not require your name, phone number, or other identifying details.
Usage Data: We may collect basic usage information through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies & Tracking below). This can include data like page views, actions taken in the app, and other analytics to help us improve our service. This information is generally collected in an anonymized or aggregate form and is not directly tied to your identity.
We do not intentionally collect any sensitive personal information. If you choose not to provide certain information (such as your email), you may not be able to use some features (for example, creating an account or logging in).
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Operate the Service: Your email address is used to create and manage your account, and to authenticate your login. For instance, we may send a login link or verification code to your email to help you sign in securely.
- To Communicate with You: We may use your email to send you important notices about your account, respond to your inquiries, and provide updates about Vadar Alpha. This includes sending occasional product announcements or newsletters about new features or offers from Vadar Alpha.
- For Marketing (With Consent): If you have agreed or signed up, we might send promotional emails about our latest developments or special offers. You can always opt out of these (see Your Choices below).
- To Improve Our Service: We analyze usage data (which may be collected via cookies and analytics tools) to understand how users interact with our app. This helps us troubleshoot issues, optimize user experience, and develop new features. This analysis is done on aggregate data; we do not profile individual users for targeted advertising or any invasive purposes.
- To Ensure Security and Prevent Misuse: We may use data (like logs of IP addresses or account activity) to monitor for suspicious or fraudulent activity and to protect the security of our platform and users.
We will not use your personal information for purposes other than those above without asking for your consent. In particular, we do not sell your personal data to third parties or use it for third-party advertising.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Our application uses cookies and similar technologies for two main purposes: functionality and analytics.
Essential Cookies: We use cookies to manage your login session. These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly – for example, keeping you logged in as you navigate our site. Without these, you would have to re-authenticate on every page.
Analytics Cookies: We utilize a first-party analytics service (PostHog) to help us understand how users use Vadar Alpha. PostHog may set cookies or use similar tracking so we can collect usage information (such as what pages are visited, for how long, and what actions are taken). This data helps us improve the product. We do not use any third-party advertising or social media cookies that track you across other sites. The analytics data collected is used only by us for improving Vadar Alpha.
Your choices regarding cookies: Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser settings to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being used. However, please note that if you disable or delete cookies, the Vadar Alpha application may not function correctly (for example, you might not stay logged in or some features might not work).
How We Share or Disclose Information
We understand your personal information is important, and we treat it with care. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We also do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share information in the following ways:
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party companies to help us run Vadar Alpha. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their functions, and they are obligated to protect it and use it only for our purposes. Our key service providers include:
- Email Service (Google/Gmail): We use Google’s email services to send and receive emails. This means your email address and email content may be processed by Google's infrastructure when we communicate with you.
- Cloud Hosting (AWS and GCP): Vadar Alpha is hosted on cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Any data you provide (such as your email address and any associated account data) is stored on secure servers provided by these platforms.
- Analytics (PostHog): We use PostHog, a third-party analytics tool, to collect usage data as described above. PostHog operates on our behalf to provide insights about how our app is used. The analytics data may include information like your device type, actions within the app, and general location (e.g. city-level geolocation based on IP address). We do not send your personal identifiers (such as your name or email) to PostHog.
- Payments (Stripe): (Planned) If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future, we plan to use Stripe to handle payment transactions. Stripe will process payment information (e.g. credit card numbers) securely on our behalf. We will not store your sensitive payment details on our own servers; that information will be handled directly by Stripe in accordance with their security and privacy policies.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or legal process (for example, in response to a court order or subpoena), or if we have a good-faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable laws, protect our rights or the safety of our users, or respond to a government request.
- Business Transfers: If Vadar Alpha is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor or new owner so that the service can continue to operate. If that happens, we will ensure the new owner continues to honor the commitments we've made in this Privacy Policy (or we will notify you and give you an opportunity to delete your data before the transfer).
- Public Disclosure: We do not display or publish your personal information publicly. For example, other users of the app will not see your email address just by using the service. Any information you provide to us is kept private and used only as described in this policy, unless you explicitly choose to share something publicly.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. In practice, this means we will keep your data (such as your email and account information) indefinitely until you request deletion, or as long as you maintain an account with us. We may also retain certain information for a longer period if necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. For example, we might keep logs to meet regulatory requirements or to have an accurate record of our dealings in case of any legal issues. If you request deletion of your data (see Your Choices below), we will remove or anonymize your personal information in our active databases. However, please note that it may take additional time for information to be purged from our backups or archives, though we will ensure it is removed during our regular backup deletion cycles.
Data Security
We take security seriously and implement measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include technical, administrative, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data. For example, we use encryption for data in transit (e.g., HTTPS for our website), maintain firewalls and secure server configurations, and keep our software up to date. Access to personal data within our organization is limited. Only those team members who need the information to perform their job (for example, providing customer support or maintaining the service) have access to it. They are bound by confidentiality obligations and are trained to handle data securely. If an employee or contractor abuses access to personal data, they will face disciplinary actions. Despite our efforts to safeguard information, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to also take precautions, such as using a strong unique password for your account and keeping it confidential.
Your Choices & Rights
We believe in giving you control over your personal data. Here are ways you can manage your information and communications:
- Access and Update: Since we only collect your email as personal data, the main information to keep updated is your email address itself. If you need to update the email associated with your account, please contact us at info@vadar.ai and we will assist you.
- Account Deletion: If you wish to delete your account and remove your personal data from Vadar Alpha, you can send a request to info@vadar.ai. Because we do not currently offer a self-service deletion option in the app, we will handle deletion requests manually. Upon verifying your identity (to protect against fraudulent requests), we will delete your account and personal data. Keep in mind this process is irreversible – once deleted, your account and data cannot be recovered (though you would be free to create a new account in the future).
- Opt-Out of Marketing Emails: If you are subscribed to any promotional or newsletter emails, you can opt out at any time. Simply click the "Unsubscribe" link provided in those emails, and we will stop sending them. You can also contact us at info@vadar.ai to be removed from marketing lists. (Note that this opt-out does not apply to essential service communications, as described next.)
- Essential Communications: You will continue to receive essential emails from us when necessary, even if you've opted out of marketing messages. These include emails such as login verification messages, password resets, important notices about your account or changes to the service, and direct responses to your inquiries. We limit these communications to what is necessary for the operation of the service or your account.
- Do Not Track: Some browsers have "Do Not Track" features. Currently, our site does not respond to Do Not Track signals. However, as mentioned above, we do not use third-party trackers or advertising cookies that would track you across other sites, and our use of cookies is limited to what is described in the Cookies & Tracking section.
If you are located in certain regions (such as the European Union or California), you may have additional rights regarding your personal data (e.g., the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing). We will honor any applicable rights requests in accordance with those laws. To exercise any data rights, please contact us at info@vadar.ai.
