We're looking for an engineering leader who shares our passion for innovation and wants to make a real difference. As our Founding Head of Engineering, you'll be the architect of our core platform and the leader of our engineering team. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to define our technical vision from the ground up. You'll own the development of our MVP, build the data pipeline that powers our insights, and shape the future of our technology. • Product Development: Lead the rapid iteration and execution of our products, focusing on delivering core functionality and validating key hypotheses.

• Data Architecture: Design and implement a scalable and robust data architecture to ingest, process, and analyze data from our global distributed sensor network. Address the challenges of high-volume, high-velocity data, ensuring data integrity and real-time processing capabilities.

• Infrastructure & Security: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability.

• Technical Leadership: Define our technology roadmap, select appropriate technologies, and establish development best practices.

• Team Building: Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.

• Hands-on Contribution: Contribute code and lead by example, especially during the early stages of development.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, data science, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality software.

• Agile Execution: Implement and champion agile methodologies to drive rapid iteration and continuous delivery.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.

• Engineering leadership in fintech, electronic trading, ecommerce, insurance, or other quantitative field.

• Proven ability to build and scale web applications in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Proven ability to build low-latency AI applications.

• Strong understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.

• Experience with data engineering and building data pipelines.

• Experience with distributed systems and ideally, exposure to IoT, sensor networks, or edge computing.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.

• Passion for building impactful solutions and solving complex problems.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with time-series databases and message queues.

• Contributions to open-source projects.

• Experience with machine learning or AI.

• Base Salary: Market Competitive or $150k-$250k.
